I used the same brand as the paint, it's all by annie sloan! I never have used aluminum oxide for sanding between coats, so it could work out for you, i dunno. Garnet paper is outdated but has one advantage at this point you are better off topping the primer you have with a 100% acrylic paint that's sandable.
